A Culture of WE

Dear MUSD Family,
 
This past week WE, that is ourselves, our students, and their families, have experienced incredibly complex emotions and thoughts as we heard about and saw the impact of the election across the nation, in nearby communities, and in MUSD.   While it is surely a time of dissonance, it is also a moment of opportunity. Now is the time for the Culture of We to truly take root within our community.   
 
Let us first ensure that each of us has a moment to connect with what we are thinking, wondering, and feeling so that we may be fully present in our work with, or in support of, students. Let us extend an invitation to them to express who they are so that they will be assured that we value their cultures, experiences, and perspectives.  Let us be Milpitas, unified with our students, their families, and each other in an effort to build a community in which no one feels devalued or less than another, but instead where a Cultural of We is unmistakable.


I am grateful to the Board and to all of you for this opportunity to serve as your Superintendent, WE will succeed together.
