VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers play a key role in Milpitas Unified School District. They provide essential support to our public schools by mentoring and tutoring students, helping in classrooms and school activities, and helping raise much needed for schools. To join our district, please complete our Volunteer Instructions and Form.
If you are applying to any position in which you could be left alone with students, you will need to be fingerprinted. Please schedule an appointment with a fingerprinting agency and take this form to them.

MUSD District Needs
- Presenters for our Parent University and Classified Employee mini-conferences such as how to grow your leadership skills, delving deeper into computer skills such as spreadsheets.
- Mentors for our student programs at our high schools
- Role-models to speak about careers to our students so they learn more about their future possibilities
- Business partnerships to our work and opportunities in STEAM, Computer Science, Summer Internships and Workforce Development.

- Can you commit to a few hours a day for at least one week in the summer?

Calaveras Hills High School
Hours: See below
- Out to Lunch Mentors: Take a student out to lunch once a month to “check in” and be a mentor -Engineering class volunteers (someone with an engineering background is preferred, but not required). Classes are 8:30 to 10 a.m. and 12:10 to 1:40 p.m.
- Volunteer to help in the Art Class. Any class from 8:30 a.m. to 1:40 p.m.
- Reading or math tutors for the intervention class OR after school tutoring: 12:10 or 1:40 p.m.
- Front office volunteers, for special projects (Any time of day)
- Assistant athletic coaches (2-3:30 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays)
- Field Trip drivers/chaperones
Thomas Russell Middle School
- Support students with math, English, science, and social studies work
- Tutor students
- Work with English Learners and help them practice basic English
Hours: 7:30-8:15 a.m. and 3-5 p.m. Monday through Friday
Location: Homework Center at Russell, 1500 Escuela Parkway
Rose Elementary School
Tutor first- through fourth-grade students in reading through Reading Partners Silicon Valley.
Hours: 45-minute sessions 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday

Help with lunch recess supervision and/or coordinate recess games with first through sixth graders.
