TECHNOLOGY

Technology Advisory Group

Please visit this link if you are interested in participating in our technology advisory group.

Technology should be about more than the new, hyped, or proven.  It should make a measurable difference in the lives of students and their learning process.  We actively partner with cutting-edge companies, startups, venture capitalists, and other innovative schools/districts (charter, private, & public).   Check out our technology plan draft here.

Questions We Ask.
Does the technology make a measurable difference to student learning?  What does the technology measure?  Will it save staff & students time?  What tradeoffs are we making by going with a particular technology?  Will the technology ultimately help our students compete in the real world?  How will the technology integrate into the curriculum?

Closing The Opportunity Gap.
Education and access to the internet is the great equalizer.  But access itself is useless without the knowledge on how to use the hardware and programs.  We're addressing these challenges through weaving technology into the learning process.

Our Commitment.  Our Hope.
We are committed to bringing our students and staff world-class learning opportunities through industry aligned technologies.  Our hope:  Through the efficiencies gained and time saved with technology, students will use the additional time to ponder, dream, play outside, and most importantly create genuine human connections through spending time with each other offline.

Our Strategy : One to Any + Data.
"One to one" and BYOD terms are old fashioned.  Our students have access to their digital learning environments on any device they choose.  All of our schools are 100% wireless & all devices are welcome.  Our goal is to involve each student, teacher, and parent with data and tools designed to personalize learning.  Data that leads to action to positively transform teaching & student learning.

Our 4S Platform | Simple + Sharable + Scalable + Sustainable
We design our learning environment to be simple with a common set of core tools available to all (our staff & students have access to limitless tools).  To maximize collaboration between staff & students, all our learning technologies must be sharable.  With a lean technical staff (we have no technical staff at schools), we look for scalable and sustainable technologies while delivering the most effective and efficient learning experience possible.

Technology Partners
Our
help us continually refine our processes and their technologies to reduce friction to learning and help the technology "disappear."
Digital Citizenship & Internet Safety
Collaboration, research, digital footprints, cyber-bullying, online etiquette, etc. are part of our curriculum.
