How long have you lived in Milpitas? 20+ yrs

Did you attend MUSD schools? No 

Do you have any children who currently attend or attended MUSD schools? My son and daughter (Class of 2012 and 2019 respectively) attended Sinnott, Weller, Randall, Rancho, and MHS.

What motivated you to want to join the MUSD Board of Education? 
My successes to date are due to the educational opportunities that I received. It is clear to me that education is the “ true equalizer” and I want to give back to the community by helping to create those opportunities for our future generation. 

What do you feel is the most important part of being on the school board?

1. Helping to inspire dedicated MUSD staff to offer the best possible education experience for our kids through policy, procedures, and innovative vision. 
2. Be a representative for the diversity of the community and bring together a common voice for Milpitas public education
3. Working with the community to bring resources to help attain that goal.

What are you most proud of during your term on the school board?

• It is extremely gratifying to work with a governance team that shares a common value of ensuring we are doing all we can for our students. And through the common value, we strive to offer the best possible education for our students. 
• Among the many things that I have been involved in, it is reassuring for the community to invest in our district. Our last bond measure, measure AA, showed community confidence in our district so that we can bring the Innovation Campus, a new MHS theatre, and the Randall World Languages school to continue to provide top-notch opportunities for our students.

What is your favorite pastime?

• Volunteering in the community
• Learning about new technologies and business models
• Listening to smooth jazz on a quiet beach or park on a Sunday afternoon

Tell us something about yourself that we may not know:
