Notice of School Board Meeting Regarding the New Elementary School on McCandless Drive

The Milpitas Unified School District and the City of Milpitas have been negotiating over the purchase and sale of a 6.7 acre piece of land on McCandless Drive for the purpose of building a new elementary school In South Milpitas.  We are pleased that a tentative agreement has been reached by both parties.

The MUSD School Board will hold a special meeting  at Milpitas City Hall to discuss and take action on the language of the final agreement with the City on the following date:

    Tuesday, October 21, 2014

    Closed Session at 6:15 p.m.
    Open Session at 6:30 p.m

New School Dream Soon to be a Reality, Tentative Agreement Reached!

On September 17th a joint meeting between MUSD and Milpitas City officials was held to continue negotiations on the sale of the McCandless property. School Board President Grilli, Board Member Lau, Milpitas Mayor Esteves, and Vice-Mayor Polanski,  tentatively agreed to the sale of the 6.7 acre property for our 10th MUSD elementary school.  City Manager Williams and Superintendent Matsuoka will bring the tentative agreement forward to their respective Council and Board for final approval.  We are excited to announce that we will have the final approval completed by October 21, 2014.
